I had a phone interview with HR, which was very structured as they read questions and took notes. The questions were basic, and unfortunately, they couldn't answer my job-related questions. The second round was in person. I met with three people. The director explained the ideal candidate profile and answered my questions honestly, revealing some unappealing aspects of the company. This director didn't ask me anything, which was odd. The next person was nice and asked simple questions, really emphasizing ARGUS experience. The last person was quite off-putting. While everyone else was pleasant, this individual wasn't. They seemed like a new manager, bragging for most of our 20 minutes together, mentioning their managerial status multiple times and discussing irrelevant topics. It was confusing. I started the process excited and it was mostly fine, but the end was perplexing. One person's behavior was unprofessional, but the overall process was quite relaxed.

I was first contacted by a recruiter about this role. Then, I had a phone interview with HR. On 2/20, HR called me and asked about my Real Estate background and if I had other offers. HR didn't seem to know much about the job, and I felt rushed because they were helping out another HR person. The call lasted about 30 minutes. I was then asked to schedule a face-to-face interview with the hiring manager and upper management for 2/27. The interview seemed okay; I felt like I was leading it. I mainly talked about my past work experience and the companies I worked for. The interviewer was nice, and we chatted about our commutes. The interview ended after 25 minutes. I expected to meet upper management, but they were in a meeting. Strangely, I wasn't asked any character questions. I'm confused because the recruiter said it was entry-level with no growth, but the hiring manager mentioned potential growth. I figured I wasn't a good fit. I followed up with my recruiter and finally heard back on 3/24 that I wasn't selected. My recruiter didn't get feedback and seemed annoyed. The position was still open and showing up on other recruiter lists.

There were two rounds of interviews on the same day. First, HR did a quick background check. Then, three people who are controllers or assistant controllers interviewed me together. One person seemed to lead the conversation, while the other two were quieter. They were all very nice. The questions mostly focused on my background, past internships, and standard behavioral questions. They also asked about specific Excel functions like VLOOKUP. They asked what I knew about the company and my most valuable experience.

A recruiter reached out to me. The hiring process was quite lengthy, spanning 8 weeks and involving 8 separate interviews. Each interview was a distinct event. There were two in-person interviews conducted on separate days. Unfortunately, the focus of the role shifted from Product Marketing to a pure branding marketer position during the process, which was surprising given how far along the interviews were. While the people seemed great, the overall organization felt lacking. I would have been enthusiastic about joining the company if the role had remained consistent.
