First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Epstein Becker & Green.
Summer Associate
It was super easy. The people were really nice, and mostly just asked me why I wanted to go into law, plus some other behavioral stuff. It felt like just chatting, and it lasted about 30 minutes. They also set aside 5-10 minutes at the end for me to ask questions.
- If you were struggling to complete a project, what would be your initial step?
Paralegal
I had first round zoom interviews with a recruiting agent and then 3 female attorneys/partners. The second round was in person with the same 3 from the zoom plus one male partner who seemed more interested in who I worked with at my previous firms, rather than my knowledge and experience, or at least my nerves made it feel that way.
- Who were your previous colleagues at [names of former law firms]?
Associate Attorney
I had a virtual interview where they asked the typical questions. I wasn't sure if they were really interested in health law or if I should show flexibility for employment law. I mentioned my interest in health law, but then I was interviewed by a partner who focuses on employment law.
- Can you tell me about your involvement with the journal and the subject of your note?
- What was the topic of your note?
Legal Secretary
The interview process involved meeting with two people. The first interviewer had a poor attitude and didn't ask many questions, instead reviewing my work history and questioning full-time versus part-time roles. She then commented that the position might be difficult for me and asked about my previous receptionist experience, which was already on my resume. Despite my polite response, her demeanor was unpleasant. The second person I spoke with was much friendlier. I was then given a typing test, which involved recreating a document. These tests assessed basic legal spelling and Microsoft Word proficiency.
