First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Epidemic Sound.
AP/AR Accountant
First I got an email confirming they got my application. Then, they called me for an initial screening and suggested an online meeting. I got an email invite with a link and had a pretty smooth interview. It felt quite positive but I suppose they either found someone with an even better fit or simply filtered me out based on salary expectation.
- What are your salary expectations?
Sales
This was honestly the worst interview process I've experienced in my 8 years in software sales. They were really unresponsive and didn't respect my time at all. After stringing me along for 2 whole months, they just ghosted me with no explanation or follow-up. It was pretty shocking behavior throughout. I don't know what it's like to actually work there, but if the interview process is any hint, it's probably not great.
- Could you detail your daily tasks in your current role and explain how they lead to your successes?
Marketing Manager
I sent in a bunch of applications to Epidemic Sound for different roles that fit my skills. For most of them, I didn't hear back even after a few weeks. I did get a standard rejection for one application for a leadership role. It said they couldn't give individual feedback. To the Epidemic Sound Team: We applicants aren't asking for favors. I'm highly qualified with years of practical experience and could easily find a job anywhere. This is not how you should treat applicants. Even if you're short-staffed, you should be able to provide feedback when asked. You have no idea how well-connected I am in the industry or what I might say or post about you online. It's a two-way street. You need talent, and talent needs you. But if you don't treat people well, you'll end up without great talent. It's that simple. I will never apply to you again and will tell my network to do the same.

Site Reliability Engineer
I had an initial chat with their recruiter, who was great to talk to and communicated well. The interview process involved a screening call, then a meet and greet with the Engineering Manager and a team member. After that, there was a technical presentation, a system design interview, and finally a meet and greet with the rest of the team. I didn't get an offer because they said I was a 'bad communicator' which they 'noticed since the beginning,' but they still let me go through all the steps. This makes me think they either wasted my time on purpose or the feedback wasn't genuine.
