Epic Trainer Interview Questions
& Process

Submitted an online application with my resume and one reference, then completed some online tests. Had an initial phone call, followed by a big interview day. The interview day included an overview of the company, an overview of the role, a case study where I had to organize a hypothetical weekly schedule and tasks, and I also had to give a self-prepared presentation and then a typical interview.

So I had this phone interview with a Trainer who just wanted to chat about why I was interested in the job. Then came this big assessment, kind of like the SAT, which took me a good 3 hours. After I passed that, they invited me for the final part, which was like half a day. This is also when they asked for references. It was a group thing with a company overview, a software demo, and a rundown of the role. Then I had to do a case study to see how I'd handle a week in the job, testing my time management. Oh, and I had to prep a 10-minute presentation on a topic I picked, no slides allowed. The very last step was a recruiter call. He got super personal, asking about my life and job hunt stuff, which was pretty uncomfortable. I tried to keep it brief, but he kept pushing, like 'Tell me more about that,' which felt really intrusive and kinda judgmental. Some people there seemed real, but the recruiter and others felt really fake. In the end, they just ghosted me, which was a bummer after investing so much time.

So I got an offer for an interview after applying previously. The first step was this four hour logic and personality test, it felt a bit old school. I think I didn't pass this the first time. But I applied again and got a referral for a final virtual interview for a different job. They asked for my availability and I got scheduled for a Wednesday, two weeks out. It was a four hour virtual interview day starting at 9 AM. I had five sessions with different epic employees and then a recruiter interview. Epic does these group interviews. So the first session had ten other people for a general overview. The second session had three candidates for a specific role overview. The third was a case study. The fourth was a presentation I had to give. And the last one was with the recruiter. There was a fifteen minute break before my presentation. The sessions were fast-paced because they had to cover a lot of info and they finished exactly on time. It was very informative but felt a bit impersonal, everyone was overly bubbly like they were in a rush. The process is informative and gives you a good idea of the company, they hired a lot during covid and plan to keep their staff size, so there's a lot of work available. Be prepared for this process to take up a lot of your time and the interviewers' time too.
