They made me do a long online assessment that you can't save and come back to, which was tough with my school and work schedule. The info sessions were at really inconvenient times. Plus, there were personality tests that took about an hour. And all this was before even talking to anyone about the job. It seems like a way to get people to self-select out, but I can't see why a decent mid-level engineer would go through it. Maybe they're looking for desperate juniors to underpay, I don't know.

After applying online, I received an email the same night for a skills assessment. This assessment took about 2.5 hours and included a 2-minute speed math section, followed by three longer sections (30 min - 1 hour each) that covered math problem-solving, questions about a made-up coding language, and 5 LeetCode-style programming questions. I also completed a personality assessment. Later that week, I had a 30-minute phone call interview with a Software Developer at Epic, which ended up being only about 15 minutes long. This call was mostly for me to ask questions about the role, but I was also asked to be ready to discuss my experience and suitability for Epic. About three weeks later, I had the Final Interview. This involved a 30-minute session giving more info about Epic, followed by a 45-minute session specifically about the Software Developer position. Then came a 45-minute system design case-study where I had to answer questions about designing specific healthcare software, including discussions on data structures and algorithms. To finish, there was a 15-minute HR interview. Lastly, I did a 45-minute pair-programming exercise, which was a LeetCode medium problem. After two weeks of waiting, I followed up via email, and the very next day, they sent a background check request. The day after that, I received the offer.

So after I applied, they first had me create a Rembrandt profile and complete a questionnaire. Then I had to take an online assessment called Sphinx which had 4 sections. It took me around 2-3 hours to finish.
