Applied for Project Manager, but after a personality test and assessment, they suggested QA would be a better fit. The first step was a 30-minute Zoom screening. After that, I was invited to a 4-hour session which included a 10-minute presentation on a topic of my choice and some case studies. The case studies were tricky because I had to guide someone else to click through the interface, which took up a lot of time. Following the presentation, there was a 30-minute call with the recruiter where they asked a few questions. The recruiter gave me the impression I would get an offer, so I was pretty disappointed to get an email saying they chose other candidates. On the flip side, I realized how much most people at Epic are overworked.

I was in the first part of the interview process, but I didn't make it to the next stage. It had 3 parts: a phone interview, a non-technical skills test, and a personality test. The phone interview was with a current Quality Assurance Tester. It was pretty chill, mostly just reviewing my resume, asking common interview questions, and discussing the company while answering my questions. The non-technical skills assessment was quite challenging, involving logic questions and questions about a basic custom programming language, all under time pressure. The personality test was also timed and included a mix of logic problems and questions asking which statements I most agreed with. The company progresses through this process quickly. They reached out the day after I applied and expected the interview and exams to be completed within about a week. They sent my rejection letter at the end of that week.

I started with a phone screen, then had to do a skills test. After that, I went onsite for the main interview. The day began with a group orientation about the software, then we broke out for introductions and interviews specific to our roles. Following that, I had 1:1 interviews where we went over case studies on how to handle different scenarios. To wrap things up, I gave a 10-minute presentation to a group of 4 people, and then had a final 1:1 with HR. Everyone I met was really nice.
