First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Epic Charter Schools.
Customer Experience Specialist
First I had to record myself answering some questions, then I had an in-person interview that went really well. I didn't get hired, but it was a nice experience.
- Tell me about a time you dealt with a difficult customer and describe how you handled it.
Educator
The interview process is a multi-step process with two interviews, a competency skills test, a lesson planning example, and a short video.
- Could you analyze this ACT scoresheet to pinpoint areas for improvement and then create a straightforward lesson plan tailored for this student?
Teaching Assistant
The interview process is pretty chill and easy. We did the first interview over Zoom, which was convenient. There's also a recommended "Good Education" certification exam that walks you through using Google Education tools in the classroom. After that, your info gets passed to individual school principals.
- What do you think your role as a teaching assistant entails?
- What do you know about this company and the charter school choice?
Teacher
It was a multi-stage process. I first applied, then talked to a recruiter. After that, I had to answer questions and record videos about hypothetical teaching scenarios. Then I interviewed with the principal. The whole thing took about two weeks. The video recording part was the longest.
- What is your motivation for joining Epic?
- Describe your strategy for assisting students who are not meeting grade-level benchmarks.
- How do you envision maintaining a balance between your professional and personal life?
