The interviewer was professional and on time. They explained everything clearly. There was a nice presentation, and the candidate showed good potential. The job description seems good, and I'm looking forward to it. It would be great if they had more open positions. I like how convenient the location is.

I came in and filled out a form that asked for a lot of personal stuff like my Social Security number, salary history, legal status, and so on. Then it was a pretty standard interview where we talked about me, my resume, and what I know about the company. There was also some small talk. The offer I got was way different from what was advertised in the job posting. The ad said 45k with benefits, paid holidays, and vacations, but they try to trick you. They have a 3-month "probation" period where you work six days a week, 9 hours a day for 35k. That's like $12/hour with no overtime and no benefits. The hours are set in stone until you pass probation. After the 3 months, you get 1 week paid vacation after a year, one personal day, one sick day, and then medical benefits and 401k are "to be discussed." If you're going to offer a much lower salary and no benefits for probation, you should put that in the job ad. I know some companies have probation periods, but this pay is way less than what they advertised.

Behavioral Technical

This was the most unprofessional interview experience ever. I applied through a staffing agency, and although the job listing didn't mention Mandarin as a requirement, they later asked about my Chinese skills in a questionnaire. They proceeded to schedule an interview even though my Mandarin is basic. This was the only phone interview where the interviewer was late. The interviewer became upset when she realized I wasn't fluent, despite her decision to interview me knowing my language limitations. She asked, in a passive-aggressive manner, 'You do know you need fluent Mandarin for this role, why would you apply if you aren't?'. This suggests they hire anyone willing to work for them, disregarding experience. They didn't review my application thoroughly as all their questions were ones I had already answered via email and application. The day after my interview, they updated the listing to include Mandarin in the job title. I'd advise staying away from this company; they don't respect time, lack communication skills, and then blame others, all while being passive-aggressive.
