Had a quick 15-minute phone chat with basic questions. Then met with the team for an in-person interview where they had a list of general questions about strengths, weaknesses, past mistakes, and a work conflict.

Had a Zoom chat with a recruiter first. They laid out the job details and prepped me for the tech interview, saying I should be ready to talk about specific security tools with the hiring team. A week after, I had the one-hour technical interview. They asked about my background from my resume and how I got into cybersecurity. The vibe in the tech interview felt pretty tense. The questions they asked were really unclear and not about the security tools the recruiter had mentioned. I ended up asking a bunch of questions about the team and the company.

It started with an initial interview with the main hiring manager, followed by a zoom panel interview with three other team members. The hiring manager came off as really rude and uninterested, but I still got invited to a second interview. The energy didn't really change though. The second interview with everyone else was great, and even though I didn't get an offer, I enjoyed meeting them. They asked relevant questions and tried to get to know me, but the main hiring manager asked random, unrelated questions and assessed skills not in the job description. He didn't seem to have a plan. The team seems accomplished, and I was excited to learn from them, but the culture felt off and the interviewer seemed mean. It felt cliquey and not like a fun place to work. I was interested in other roles at the company, but this experience made me reconsider the whole company. I wouldn't recommend it.

I got contacted for a phone interview which went well, so they set up a video interview. The interviewer was late and looked unkempt, but I tried to overlook it. During the interview, the interviewer seemed disengaged, looking out the window and at their phone/computer. They asked a question I found a bit strange and irrelevant, and didn't seem to like my answer, becoming even more disengaged. They said they'd reply by the end of the week after the Monday interview. A week passed with no word, so I emailed. Five days later, they replied saying interviews were ongoing and a decision would be made by week's end. Another week passed with no update. I'm being patient as they had many applicants. Two weeks later, I emailed again but still haven't heard back, which was over a week ago. It's surprising a large organization like Envision doesn't even send a rejection email and should really look at their talent acquisition staff and interviewing methods.
