I learned more about what the organization does. It was interesting to learn more about their work and what my role would be if hired. I enjoyed meeting the people I'd work with and learning more about them.

There were 2 panels. Every person asked a question. The questions were pretty standard. However, be aware that some interviewers were more friendly than others and even if you left a position while working on an issue, they want you to know the outcome and what the larger issue was (even if you worked on a specific area within the case).

ELPC said they tried to reach me multiple times to schedule an interview, but my records show no calls. They did send an interview invite, but I had some trouble getting a response at first to set it up. After my 1-hour panel interview, I was told I'd hear back in two weeks about moving to the next round. Two weeks passed with no update, and they said I should hear the next week. After that, I never heard from ELPC again, even after sending a follow-up email. My interview experience with ELPC was really disappointing since I've always liked their work. Getting ghosted during the hiring process is not professional. Based on my experience, I won't be recommending ELPC to others looking for jobs in environmental advocacy and policy.

After applying, I had a phone interview with the hiring manager. Then, I went in person to interview with several staff members, including the director of the fellowship program and the Executive Director. This was some time ago, so the process might be different now.
