The whole thing was about 50 minutes on Teams. It started with some typical 'tell me about yourself' stuff, but then we got right into machine learning. They asked questions from basic algorithms to how you'd use ML in real-life situations, and wanted me to really show how I think and solve problems.

Since there are so many applicants for this fellowship, EDF has hired another company to do the two Skype interviews. The interviewers couldn't answer specific questions about EDF or Climate Corps, but it was still a good experience. The first interview has a mix of technical and situational questions, like asking you to "Calculate the ROI on this project..." or "Describe a time when you had to work together with people who had very different perspectives." If you get a second interview (which usually happens in the same week), it will be more about making sure your interests and summer logistics (like where you want to work in the country, if you'll have a car) match up with a company that's interested.
