The whole hiring journey took around three months from start to finish. I initially applied on their website. About a month after that, a really nice recruiter reached out and set up my first 30-minute chat. This interview happened about a week after we first connected. Then, I had another interview, lasting an hour, with the people who would be my direct managers. Following that, I had a third one-hour interview with my future directors. Each of these interviews occurred within a week of the previous one. Throughout this time, my HR contact was super helpful and kept me updated, answering all my questions. After that, we moved onto checking references, sorting out salary, and doing background checks. It was a long process, but totally worth it in the end.

I had three rounds of interviews. The first was a 30-minute phone interview with an HR person, though they had to reschedule twice even after I picked times. Then I met with three employees for an hour who would work with the role. The final interview was also an hour with three State Directors from the Southeast and the Senior Director for the whole region. They told me they'd finish interviews that week, make a decision, and then it would go up the chain to HR to let me know. I never heard back after that. All the employees I met were nice, but the HR part of this process had issues, maybe understaffed or not competent. I followed up with HR a couple weeks after the last interview and still got no response. It's not hard to keep candidates updated. I was really disappointed because I thought the organization did great work and was excited about the job, but this experience changed my mind about applying again, especially since I wasn't treated respectfully.

I got an email from HR to set up a chat with them, which lasted about 30 mins. After that, I met with my potential manager, then their manager, and then their manager. Each of these talks was about 30-45 mins and they asked a lot of the same general stuff. Then I had a few shorter, more casual chats with other people on the program team, these were only about 20 mins. All the interviews were either in person or over video, but from the local EDF office.
