Business Analyst
I applied through my school's co-op program and got an interview. They were hiring multiple Business Analysts for four different departments. The interview mainly consisted of technical questions, covering BPMN diagramming, ER diagramming, and completing a use case for an ATM by just listing the steps. There were two interviewers, each looking to hire a BA for their department. They gave us the questions beforehand so we could read them while they asked. We could skip questions and come back to them later. The interviewers were not overly friendly, but they weren't intimidating either.
- Given historical data, how would you enhance the current quality assurance test for weather stations that verifies temperatures between -60C and +55C?
- Could you elaborate on BPMN diagramming techniques?
- Could you elaborate on ER diagramming techniques?
Business Analyst
I applied for a year-long internship and the interview was very structured. Two interviewers asked questions from a printed list and took many notes.
- Can you describe a situation where...?
Business Analyst
I applied through the University of Ottawa's COOP Program and got scheduled for an interview with 2 people. The interview was about 20-30 minutes long and included time for questions at the end. It started with a quick overview of the team I'd be joining, then an icebreaker about me, followed by some situational questions, and finally closing questions like 'Why should we hire you?'.
- Considering the requirements outlined in the job posting, what strengths do you possess and how would they ensure your success in this role?
