The internship recruitment process consisted of one behavioral interview and a writing test round. The questions from the behavioral are very intuitive if you have a genuine passion for the environment.

The interview process was pretty fast. I applied online and got an email the next day asking for a phone interview with a scheduling link. The phone interview was standard and informational, not with Environment America directly but with one of the PIRGS (which makes sense since they're part of the same umbrella org). It went well, and I heard back about a week later about a more formal Skype interview. I scheduled it but never got the Skype name of the interviewer. Right before the interview, I called HR four times with no answer. Five minutes after the scheduled time, she contacted me on Skype. The interview went well, with standard questions very similar to the phone interview.

I applied online and heard back about a week later for an initial phone interview. The central office handled these screenings, so the questions were pretty basic, focusing on my background and interests. A couple weeks later, I got a second interview in the DC office with the head of the office. This one also had standard interview questions. They mentioned they wanted to make a quick decision because of an upcoming August training and said I'd hear back in a few days. Two days later, someone else called with some follow-up questions and said I'd know within the next day or two. Unfortunately, I never heard back after that.
