Website Specialist
The process was pretty easy. First, I had a phone call with the talent recruiter. Then, there was a panel interview with 3 people from their team. Finally, I had a meeting with the manager.
- Can you share an experience where you had to handle a challenging client?
Accounting Manager
I applied online and got a homework assignment. In week 1, I had a phone interview with a really nice and engaging recruiter. Week 2 involved an interview with the Controller to discuss the department's current needs and challenges. Finally, in week 3, I interviewed with the CFO who asked some questions but seemed a bit uninterested or aloof.
- What changes or implementations would you propose for current processes?
Software Support Representative
I was contacted by a hiring manager who did a quick in-person interview where we discussed the job description, my salary expectations, and my reasons for leaving my current position. After that, I was invited back for a second interview with a group of interviewers. This second interview was fine, they asked standard questions, but it was a bit disorganized. One interviewer asked why I wanted to leave my job, and when I said for better benefits and salary, another interviewer bluntly stated the job doesn't pay well, which was unprofessional and awkward. They requested three professional references. I had the interview on Wednesday, and the next day HR was already reaching out to my references. My references mentioned she seemed rushed and her questions weren't really relevant to the job.
- What motivates your decision to leave your present employment?
- What are your salary expectations?
- Could you please share your reasons for seeking a new opportunity?
Senior Software Engineer
I had a phone interview with the new VP of development, which was a good conversation. Then, I had a technical interview with the VP, Lead Developer Brandon, and a team member. This interview was too focused on academic theory, more suitable for an architect role. I think it would have been better to focus on problem-solving, discussing tools and patterns, past experiences, and how I could contribute to their team.

- Open ended question: How do you know that your code is done? What makes it done and ready to push to production?
