the interview process was pretty good and I got to chat about life in general and what I'm looking for in a career in the film industry.

I withdrew my application after the Final Interview because of several red flags, even though the Office Manager, HR Manager, and Hiring Manager were nice. The response and follow-up times were super slow, and at one point, they ghosted me for over a week. When they finally reached out to schedule the Final Interview, they were in a huge rush and wanted to do it 'ASAP.' They sent me four research-intensive questions about TheGrio, HBCUs, Black Culture, and Black Media, which I had to answer in a Google Slide and then lead the discussion on during the hour-long interview. It felt a bit strange that a panel of non-Black interviewers asked these very specific questions to a Black candidate, especially since they said it wouldn't be the primary focus of the role. I felt like they were just using me for free research, as these questions didn't really show my skills. The interview ended up being only 30 minutes, and we mostly just talked about my answers. They didn't have any follow-up questions for me and didn't plan enough time for me to ask them questions. I did manage to ask about their DE&I initiatives and team diversity, given the Black-centric digital content and the non-minority staff I spoke with, but they were vague, saying they planned to initiate something soon. Right at the end, they told me the salary, which was way below my expectations, making the whole process a waste of everyone's time, especially since I spent hours doing free research for a role that was never within my salary range. This could have been avoided if they had provided this info earlier. This whole experience left me feeling used and misled, so I decided to pull my application. Lesson learned: trust your gut.

I chatted with the head of legal, and it was a pretty chill interview, more like a conversation which I appreciated. We talked about my resume and my reasons for wanting to intern at Entertainment Studios. I liked the whole thing even though I didn't get the internship.

I applied online through my school and got a call within about a week from the EA. The pre-screening went well, and then I was invited to come in for a final interview with the EP. The EP chatted a bit about what I wanted to do, and it was pretty relaxed. We took a tour of the place, and then they offered me the job.
