I got contacted by a recruiter via phone after I applied online. The phone interview felt professional, not like a typical Q&A. After that, they sent me an application and a writing test, which I finished. I had to bring those with me for the in-person interview. Then I met with the recruiter, the sales director, and the hiring manager. Everyone was really positive and kept me updated, which was great. Honestly, it was probably one of the best and most professional interviews I've had. In the end, I took a job closer to home.

After applying online, a Recruiter reached out a few days later. She gave me a general overview of the job, Entertainment Earth's values and history. I was interested. Two days after that, I was contacted and invited for an onsite interview. The interview room was really tidy. Their culture, filled with exclusive collectibles, seemed to align with my interests. The interview lasted about forty minutes, and then I was shown out. I felt the interview went well, but then... A few days later, I was informed I wouldn't be moving forward because other candidates had more specific experience. The Recruiter did suggest I contact her in the future if a role sparked my interest. (SIGH) Even though I didn't get to the next stage, the good communication throughout and the phone call instead of an email was appreciated. The whole process took about seven days.

It started with an HR interview, then they requested a lot of work upfront: a marketing plan for a new promotion and a long questionnaire for a writing sample. I also had to do an online personality test that took about 40 minutes. After that, I had an interview with the two founders. The questions were really specific and detailed. There wasn't any downtime to get to know them. I sent thank you notes and some decks from my portfolio afterward. HR said they'd let me know by Friday either way. I never heard back, and even followed up twice with no reply. It was disappointing not to hear back, especially after all the prep work I did.

The interview process kicked off with a video call involving both the recruiter and the hiring manager. This was followed by a second round, a panel interview also via video, which included the CEO, two other team members, and the same recruiter and hiring manager from the first round. I found it a bit redundant since I had to repeat information. Given it's an entry-level role, I was surprised the CEO was involved. The third round involved several tasks: completing an employment application requesting three professional and three personal references, taking a personality test with math and vocabulary questions, and finishing a four-part writing assessment. After submitting these, the recruiter contacted me to discuss my pay flexibility, mentioning they had found other strong candidates, making the role more competitive. They also informed me the previously salaried position would now be hourly, which I found concerning regarding their compensation approach. Ultimately, I wasn't offered the position, and I felt the extensive assessments were a waste of time given the company's stance on pay.
