& Process

I recently interviewed with Entera and it was a great experience. The team was welcoming and made me feel valued. They were professional and showed genuine interest in my skills. The process was clear and organized with good communication. The questions were interesting and showed they understood the industry and role. I got to showcase my skills and knowledge and had good conversations. The process was efficient with no delays and moved forward transparently. I felt informed and empowered. I highly recommend interviewing at Entera. The people, process, and questions were excellent and I left feeling inspired.

This was the smoothies interview process. First, a call with the recruiter. Then, a phone screening with the Tech lead, where we talked about my experience, what I'm looking for, my coding approach, and the company/position. It was a very positive chat. Next was a take-home exercise, which was very relevant to my daily work and what Entera does. After that, I had a call with the tech lead of my future team. We had a really interesting technical conversation about the exercise I did and technologies I've used or would use in different scenarios. Then, a call with the Director of Engineering, which was again very technical and interesting. Finally, I had an onsite with the CTO at the NYC office because I live nearby. Everyone I spoke with was super friendly and honest when answering my questions. Overall, it was a great experience.

There were a number of interview rounds, including one with the CTO. I traveled to NYC to meet the team and brainstorm, which made me think an offer was coming. We talked for two hours, and I had some ideas they hadn't considered. The CTO then expressed concern that my recent experience was with larger companies (around 3000 employees), even though I've worked with smaller companies before, and this is a small startup. No offer was made. They didn't offer any compensation for my time and expertise in NY beyond covering my travel expenses. It felt like they got free consulting.

So I talked to a recruiter first, then had a phone screen with someone at Entera. After that, they gave me a take-home assignment where I had to map out some colleges. I put about six hours into it, after my normal work hours, and Entera has just ghosted me for weeks even though I've followed up a bunch. I really put in the time, six hours, with my wife being 36 weeks pregnant at home, and they couldn't even be bothered to reply after I reached out multiple times. Worst and most unprofessional interview process ever.
