The interview panel included the Heads of the Dept. and HR. It began with some small talk, then went straight into asking about why I'm looking to change jobs. We talked about the important parts of my CV for this job and they checked if I could start without any issues. Benefits were discussed at the end. It was a very straightforward chat.

Got an email inquiry, then had two in-person interviews with the Director and VP of Capital Projects. They asked about Project Management Methodology, plus a bunch of technical and international operations questions. Funny thing is, the VP had already resigned by the time I started, and the Director had been replaced too. They also went back on some contractual stuff they'd promised about flights and bonuses after I joined.

After submitting an application, expect a call within about three weeks. The first call will involve a few questions, and they'll schedule an in-person interview. When you arrive, it might seem a bit disorganized despite it being a big company. The staff are nice, but, seriously, UNORGANIZED. The whole interview takes around two hours, with the initial application taking about an hour to finish. They'll ask basic questions about your family and relationship status, then present you with different situations and ask how you'd handle them. After that, they'll talk about your work ethic and then explain the job and what you'll be doing. If you get the job, you'll have to pass a full physical, including two MRIs, two X-rays, a four-hour physical fitness test/stress test, a respirator fit test, a lung capacity test, two drug tests, and water survival training.

The interview process (the face-to-face part) was okay, involving a psychological test, a group dynamic activity, and an interview with the maintenance manager. During the technical interview with the manager (a very friendly Norwegian gentleman), I actually did better than I expected and, instead of getting the 'Mechanic' position, I was offered the Subsea Assistant role. This was a significant step up, including financially. After we finished our conversation, he took me to HR and asked one of the staff members to give me the details for the pre-employment medical exams. The person responsible for my selection process was in another interview, so I was told to go home and they would contact me with all the details. I waited almost a week for a response from Ensco (Pride) and didn't even get a small email informing me about what was happening. I called the person responsible for my process to find out what happened, and I was told they were still analyzing the data and would contact me within a few days. Long story short, I never got a response! So, here's my suggestion if you participate in any process at this company and have an interview with an area manager. If they offer you a job or say you've been approved, be sure to ask them for contact details. Ask them for a card with their name, phone number, and email. This way, you won't depend on third parties and will have direct contact with the decision-makers, making it easy to report situations like this.
