Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Enquero.
Software Development Engineer
First, the interviewer had me introduce myself and talk about my past experience and projects. Most of the initial questions were about what I put on my resume. The questions were of average difficulty. Since I listed coding as a skill, they had me code on paper. I also got some HR questions about my opinions, plans, and goals. Then, the selected candidates were put into groups of 9 for a team-building activity. It was a really different kind of activity, a unique way to see how well people communicate and work in a team. I got selected for an Internship + Full time Employment program as a Software Development Engineer.
- Can you elaborate on the projects you listed on your resume, and how might that experience translate to this role?
- Can you explain the projects you mentioned on your resume and how you could apply that experience to this job?
Software Engineer
The HR team reached out to me on LinkedIn and scheduled an initial call with them. After a good conversation with the Talent Manager, I was set up for an interview with the hiring manager. The hiring manager adjusted the interview time by 30 minutes on the same day, which was fine. However, on the scheduled day and time, I waited for 30 minutes after joining the call and nobody else showed up. I contacted my LinkedIn contact, who responded an hour later with an apology and rescheduled the interview. I agreed, and it was moved to the following week. The interview was at 10 PM my time because the hiring manager was in India. I joined the interview and answered all questions easily, despite facing significant challenges understanding the interviewer due to a strong language barrier and poor internet connection. The next day, the contact messaged me on LinkedIn again, stating that the customer no longer required the position. It was a really bad experience, and I wouldn't suggest this company.
- Could you tell me about your background in the IT field?
Software Engineer
The interview process was really smooth. It started with an aptitude and coding round, followed by a group discussion which was pretty fun. Then, a technical interview happened, which was very friendly. Knowing data analytics and ML gives you an edge. After that, there was an activity round, which was an alternative to the usual HR round, and honestly one of the most unique and fun rounds I've seen. This activity round was designed to check teamwork and presentation skills.
- Can you answer questions about Sql?
- Can you answer questions about Numpy?
- Can you answer questions about Pandas?
