Principal Infrastructure Engineer
Had multiple rounds, first a general chat with the team lead to get to know each other, then more in-depth technical discussions and questions from the team members. It was really focused on testing my technical knowledge and past experiences.
- Can you tell me about a time you dealt with a production outage and how you contributed to fixing it?
- How do specific AWS services function?
Senior Software Engineer
There were 4 interview rounds. The first was with a Director and included a technical interview, which I passed. The second was with a Technical Lead, and I cleared that too. Then there was a coding round, which I completed. I provided the output, but they weren't satisfied because the requirements weren't clear. The last round was supposed to be with HR management, but it didn't happen.
- Can you introduce yourself?
- What are your thoughts on front-end technologies?
- Could you discuss your past projects?
Test Engineer
There were 3 rounds of interview at chennai. First was technical, second was a normal interview, and the third was with the director. After that, HR said they would contact in two weeks. I dropped mails to HR but didn't receive any response and tried to reach over the phone. Every time, someone said the HR is not available, to call later, or they would inform HR to send my status. I have not yet received any updates.
- What is the bug life cycle?
- Can you explain routing, switching, packets, and frames?
- What are the OSI layers?
Director
The whole process for scheduling interviews, phone screens, and the onsite was a mess. You wouldn't hear back from the recruiter for like a week, then suddenly the VP would call out of the blue and do a phone screen without warning. Anyway, I made it to the onsite rounds. The onsite itself was pretty eye-opening about the work environment. Honestly, just read the Glassdoor reviews, they're pretty spot on. For the onsite, I met with the VP of QE, the VP/President of Eng, a Principal Eng, and a Sr. SW Mgr. The main takeaway was that they have a massive wishlist of things they want to achieve but lack the expertise or resources to tackle it all. This came up as a question for me: how would I handle this? It seemed like everyone was keen to solve problems but lacked a clear path on how to do it. Then there was this one guy who was a total turn-off, making me definitely not want to work for him or the company. He showed up late to the interview, still eating his lunch, acting like he was this huge, important person. The questions he asked felt designed to belittle you, and he just kept bragging about his past accomplishments. I knew right then I'd never work for him. He was in a huge rush, didn't even listen to my answers, avoided eye contact, and kept putting me down with negative comments on my responses. It made the interview experience really bad. Just remember, interviewing is a two-way street; we need to figure out if we want to invest our time and skills with you for the next few years. A little respect goes a long way. If there's no respect now, it's probably only going to get worse, even if you get the job.
- How would you handle underperforming employees?
- What would be your approach to managing a large backlog of desired features with limited internal capabilities?
