Account Manager
The recruiter reached out on LinkedIn and we scheduled a Zoom call. During the call, she asked a lot of questions as if she was interviewing me for the role. I told her I don't even know what the role entails, how am I supposed to tailor my answer to your expectations. She kept saying that questions about the role would be answered in the latter half of the call. The entire time her tone was super condescending and it made me feel uncomfortable/disrespected. I tried to give her some feedback at the end of the call but she just brushed it off with some snarky remark.
- Given that you'd be managing 800-900 accounts, how would you prioritize your daily tasks as an Account Manager?
Account Manager
First, there was a phone screen with a recruiter to go over basic personality stuff and talk about the job. Then, I interviewed with the Hiring Manager to see if we'd get along and match personalities. After that, the HM and a Director did a panel interview where we went through a case study with two scenarios. Finally, I had a short interview with the VP about expectations and fitting into the culture.

Account Manager
My first interview was with the recruiter, and it went really well. She was prepared and knew her stuff, asking me insightful questions and giving me advice on what to expect next and how to prepare. The second interview wasn't scheduled until 8 days after the first one, which felt like a long time. After a 45-minute second interview, which I thought I nailed, I asked the interviewer if she had any reservations about moving me forward so I could address them. As an Account Manager, this is a key skill to show you can close and handle objections. I was told that's not how they do things and I'd have to wait for the recruiter to give me feedback and next steps. I figured an interviewer in sales/AM would expect that question. I never got detailed feedback, only a rejection email from a no-reply address three days later. It was a bit annoying, but whatever.
