First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at EngenderHealth.
Project Manager
It was a 3 step process. Started with a quick call to screen me, then I had interviews with the HR and program team, and finally with the Country Director. The whole thing was pretty straightforward and professional. They made the decision pretty quickly.
- Can you explain why you are a good fit for this position, providing examples from your past work experience?
General Accountant
Before you meet candidates face-to-face, you need to figure out exactly what you’re looking for in a new hire so that you’re asking the right questions during the interview. Begin this process by compiling a list of required attributes for the position. For inspiration and guidance, look at your top performers. What do they have in common? How are they resourceful? What did they accomplish prior to working at your organization? What roles did they hold? Those answers will help you create criteria and enable you to construct relevant questions.
- Where do you see yourself in five years?
Communications Intern
They wanted to interview me about a week after I applied. They mentioned they needed someone for at least 6 months, which was different from the listing that said 12 weeks with an extension option, and unpaid, which felt unreasonable during a pandemic. A few days to a week later, they asked me to do a social media test and said I'd hear back that Friday. Instead, they called to offer me an interview for a different role, and then ghosted me for that too.
- What are your career aspirations for the next five years?
- What motivates your interest in working at EngenderHealth?
Technical Specialist
So, there were three rounds of interviews online, and you have to qualify each one to move to the next. It started with HR, then the program team lead, and finally, the country representative. I'm writing this now 'cause Glassdoor wants at least 30 words, and I've already explained everything. Phew, made it past 30!
- Can you describe your background in the sector and thematic area, including your understanding of the specific health issue's policies, programs, and stakeholders?
- What are your strategies for managing workplace conflicts?
- Describe a situation where you had to use your problem-solving and adaptation skills when COVID-19 impacted project implementation.
