Client Success Manager
So after I sent my resume, they sent an email to schedule a time that works, then we had a quick virtual interview with a really nice HR person. It was super fast and efficient.
- What motivated you to apply for this position, and are you currently in talks with other companies?
- Why did you apply, and do you have other interviews scheduled?
HR
The interview process had about 4 interviews, starting with the recruiter screening. Everyone I spoke with was really nice and made me feel comfortable during the interview. Unfortunately, I didn't get an offer because the hiring manager wanted someone based in their home state. This makes me think either they didn't communicate well about the location requirement upfront, or they used it as an excuse after taking up a lot of my time. Either way, it felt dishonest.
- Can you share your experience in leading teams?
Customer Success Director
My experience with Enervee was quite odd. I saw their opening on LinkedIn in December 2020 and applied, but heard nothing for months. In early May 2021, they emailed me saying the role was reopened and asked if I was still interested. I reapplied, giving them another shot. Ten days later, the same person contacted me again, stating the role was closed once more as they were prioritizing more operationally critical roles and not hiring anyone. The company seems directionless and unsure of its next steps. I tried reaching out to their team online without any reply. The LinkedIn phone number was out of service, and calling their toll-free number twice during business hours went straight to voicemail. Even reaching out to the recruiter on LinkedIn yielded no response. This company seems barely operational, and other reviews suggest a pattern of leadership issues. I wouldn't recommend wasting your time. While their product seems useful, the team seems incapable of leading or executing. It's disappointing when companies give candidates false hope with non-existent openings.
- Have you previously worked in a SaaS, technology, or start-up environment?
- Do you anticipate needing sponsorship for an employment visa in the future, such as an H-1B?
- Could you share your expected base salary range for this position?
Sales Director
I spoke with HR and the recruiter, and they were great, really positive and informative. The second interview was strange. I have a lot of industry contacts and did well representing myself with past deals, showing insight into Enervee and how to leverage my network. However, I don't have 10 years of SAAS sales experience or have led sales/business development efforts worth over $100 million. My background is in managed services, software, and consulting, not SAAS, though I have experience with contracts. The interviewer seemed disengaged, hadn't reviewed my resume or LinkedIn, and appeared distracted. When I mentioned my positive chat with the recruiter and my eagerness to deliver, the interviewer became angry and ended the interview abruptly after just 17 minutes. They admitted they hadn't checked my profile when I asked. I had even boosted LinkedIn views for Enervee to over 350 before the interview, demonstrating my reach. I left confused, unsure of what happened. It seems they might be looking for someone with over 10 years and $100m+ in closed SAAS deals personally. I wasn't the right fit, but my experience might help others. I've asked to be removed from consideration because of the interviewer's inattentiveness, apparent anger, and the sudden end to the conversation.
- Could you tell me about the number of software-as-a-service deals you've personally closed?
