First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Enerplus.
Financial Analyst
First, I had an interview with the hiring manager and the talent acquisition specialist. They asked mostly behavioural questions, asking for specific examples. The interview focused on both technical knowledge and cultural fit.
- A technical accounting question was asked beforehand and discussed during the interview.
Analyst
The screening program was pretty cool because it was all online, which felt fair and unbiased. But the actual interview, along with the homework problem-solving question I had to submit for the hiring manager to review during the interview, didn't really show what the job actually involves. I felt a bit misled.
- Regarding company values, which one do you find most significant and how does it connect with your personal experiences?
- Describe a time you had a disagreement with a coworker and explain how you handled it.
Safety Advisor
It was a multi-step phone interview process, starting with a recruiter from a headhunter company, and then moving on to the hiring department. The very first call was just to see if I was interested. After that, I took a kind of personality quiz. Then there were two more calls with the Team Lead, who would be making the final decision. Finally, I was flown out to corporate for the last interview. During that final interview, I met with the Team Lead again and also the VP of HR. They mentioned after the interview that they'd know that same day whether I'd be considered further.
- What unique value do you bring to the organization?
- Can you describe the most challenging decision you've faced?
- Tell me about a time you encountered conflict and how you managed it.
Facilities Engineer
It was a pretty easy and direct process. Mostly behavioral questions, like 'tell me about a time when X happened, what did you do?'. I spoke with an HR person, the team lead, and the director. The atmosphere was really friendly. There were two interview rounds.
- Can you describe a situation where you had a conflict with a colleague?
- Tell me about an instance where something occurred, and what steps did you take?
