The interview process was straightforward, with two stages. The first stage involved a video recording, followed by a second stage conducted via Teams with a team lead. Technical skills were assessed during the interview, which was not considered very difficult.

The process was pretty straightforward. Dress professionally and be ready with your STAR method answers for situational awareness. First, we went into a room and had to read aloud. Then, we tested out the jumpseat, had our height measured, and a picture was taken. If approved, an invitation for a video interview was sent. This video interview included many STAR method and situational awareness questions, all while maintaining a smile.

The whole thing took like 2 months. First, I got an invite for a spark hire interview, which is like a one-sided recorded online thing. About a week or two later, I had an online interview over zoom. They said I'd hear back in three weeks, but I had to follow up, and it took about 4.5 weeks to get a second online interview with the same people plus one more. Then, after the recruiter said I'd hear back by a certain date, which passed, I followed up again. After that, I finally got an in-person interview that lasted 2 hours at their office. The department head said I'd definitely hear back in a week, but I didn't get an update until a week and a half later. Then, I got a generic rejection email about an hour after my last follow-up. The bad part wasn't the number of interviews, but the awful communication. I felt like I was just a backup candidate because they kept giving me positive feedback, like the potential manager saying she 'really, really enjoyed the conversation' in a way that felt really obvious. It got to the point where I stopped applying for other jobs for two weeks because I thought I had it in the bag. Big lesson learned.

I went to an Assessment Interview and there were about 150 people there. A couple of red flags popped up when I got to the hotel. First, a bunch of people didn't have their documents and were scrambling to find a place to make copies. Second, this guy right behind me got taken out of the line because of his height. I ended up waiting for 3 hours, and then in the very last step, they told me I wasn't tall enough. Also, I wasn't ready in step 2 to just pick a city to be based out of right then and there - and it wasn't even my home city. Plus, the cost for that would be all on me.

  • What city do you want to be based out of?
  • Are you fine with the pay offered?
