First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Encompass Insurance.
Liability Adjuster
The interviews were in a panel setting where the managers really drilled me with questions. I went through a total of 6 interviews and 3 sit-alongs. They offered me one salary but paid another. They mentioned the company was growing, as 7 adjusters have quit since I've been there.
- What are your thoughts on making decisions?
- What brings you here today?
Claims Service Specialist
I first applied online through the Allstate jobs portal. The very next day, a recruiter reached out via email to set up a phone interview. That call was quick, mostly asking about my work history and some scenario-based questions. After that, I got a link for a pre-assessment, which the recruiter said was straightforward and basically common sense. I finished it within the 48-hour window and got an instant email saying I'd qualified for the next stage. A day later, they called to schedule an in-person interview. The face-to-face meeting took about 30-45 minutes and felt like a standard interview – covering my background, situational questions, and details about the job and benefits. They mentioned I'd know within two weeks.
- This interview was straightforward and to the point, nothing out of the ordinary or too difficult.
Sales Consultant
First I had a phone interview with a recruiter. Then, I was flown out to Chicago for a position in Maryland, which I thought was a bit odd since no one from Maryland interviewed me first. After booking my travel for the interview, they changed the time and only told me at the very last minute. Another recruiter apologized for the mix-up and said they needed to adjust my schedule slightly and get me in a bit earlier. They asked if I'd already touched base, and then thanked me and apologized again for the confusion. When I asked if they'd adjust my travel plans to match the new time, I didn't get a response, even after emailing them. I ended up having to call the driver myself to pick me up two hours earlier than planned, and he was really rude on the way to the airport. My flight was at 2:30 PM, and I got to the airport at 10 AM. It would have been great if they had changed my flights so I didn't have to wait around all day. I really feel like my time wasn't valued or respected throughout this whole process. If I were offered the job, I don't think I would take it right now because of how disorganized and poorly communicated everything was, especially when they should be trying to impress a potential new hire. This isn't the kind of company I want to work for, as it doesn't align with how I believe people should be treated.

- Can you walk me through your prepared slideshow presentation?
- Tell me about a time you faced a challenge in sales and how you overcame it.
Claims Adjuster
It took around 3 weeks from the initial phone chat. The last interview was super chill and straightforward, feeling more like a chat than an interrogation.
- Could you share some of your work and personal activities?
