First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Encompass Community Services.
Crisis Intervention Specialist
The staff was friendly and professional, making me feel welcome and valued. The questions felt scripted and the flow was a bit jumpy, but they left plenty of time at the end for my questions.
- Can you tell me about your biggest accomplishment?
Intern
The interviewers were really nice and spoke with both the head group supervisor and my individual supervisor. They asked detailed questions that showed what's important to them, like the client population and how the internship would work. They also gave a clear description of the position.
- In this situation, what actions would you take?
Residential Counselor
First, there was an online pre-application and then a specific job application with my resume, cover letter, and references. They called to set up an interview, but they were really unclear about the time and date, which was a bit frustrating but I waited it out. Then, I had a panel interview with four people. When we were introducing ourselves, they gave me a list of about 10 questions they planned to ask and told me to look them over before we started. The questions seemed to assume I already knew how the facility operated daily, which was a little strange.
- IN ROLE PLAY: If a guest came to you concerned that staff was talking about them in conversation, what would your response to them be?
- Do you think mental illness is a disease?
Financial Analyst
First, there was a phone interview, then a virtual interview with some of the finance/accounting team members. They asked about my experience related to the role, my work capabilities, and why I am a good fit for the position. The interview involved several employees to see how well I would fit in with the team.
- Can you describe your experience using Excel and how it informs your decision-making?
