The interview process was easy. People were nice. The interview was three rounds, and I met with most members of my team, and each interview was good. This was several years ago, though. More words.

The interview experience included a first round with HR, followed by a meeting with a senior director. Then, a discussion with the team lead took place, and the final round was with future teammates. It was a very friendly interview, mostly focused on my background and experience, with a few technical questions interspersed.

My interview journey at Emulate involved two Skype calls followed by an in-person meeting. I got the vibe that Emulate talks a big game but doesn't have much to back it up. The whole thing felt really jumbled, and some questions were out of line. Oh, and they have dogs at work, so keep that in mind if you have allergies. While most folks on-site were friendly, the company structure seemed all over the place. Their organ on chips tech sounds neat but they hide how limited it is and that it doesn't quite perform as advertised. Despite chatting with the president, an off-site academic advisor, and four other senior staff, nobody could clarify who I'd report to or what the actual project entails. These were major red flags. Also, forget about getting reimbursed for your travel expenses – it's a battle you won't win.

The interview process was really disorganized and unprofessional. They rescheduled the interview three times, and one of those times was after the meeting was already supposed to be happening. They also didn't follow up much, and the salary range they mentioned was lower than what's normal for this field.
