The interview process felt overly rigid and was a red flag. The hiring manager expected perfection on an assignment with no direction, yet wanted it 'board presentation-ready.' When I asked clarifying questions, there was no feedback or guidance. I was also told I'd need to complete a six-hour external personality assessment where they would 'try to find inconsistencies' in my background. The HR team admitted they've had massive issues with hiring and that this was a new, experimental process. That lack of clarity showed. After I decided not to move forward, I received an oddly defensive note saying they had 'decided to pass on me anyway.' The whole experience felt like a preview of a culture that values control over collaboration and perfection over progress. I'm grateful I trusted my instincts — it felt like I dodged a major bullet.

I applied to multiple roles at Empower Pharmacy, and although the titles looked different, the job descriptions were almost identical, so it was hard to tell what made them unique. I talked to the same HR recruiter twice, which felt like a repeat and didn't move the process forward. I also had to do a detailed assessment about my 30/60/90-day plan, which was basically asking the same thing in different ways and took about an hour, feeling like a waste of time. It was weird that the CEO was involved in interviewing for a VP of Product Marketing role, especially since the CMO who this person would report to hasn't even been hired yet. It would have been better to hire the CMO first and let them build their team, instead of starting several VP searches at once with unclear reporting structures or goals. Before talking to the CEO, I was asked to sign a long NDA. I asked some valid questions about what the NDA covered and its five-year confidentiality period after termination, but got no answers. The lack of response when I raised concerns was unprofessional and disappointing. The whole experience seemed disorganized and not transparent. I'd advise senior people to really check how Empower Pharmacy handles candidates and internal coordination before putting in a lot of time. I wish I could give zero stars!

The interview happened in a room with 3 other people. They asked me some basic questions about my resume. I also had to do a typing speed test and solve some math problems.

Their process is seriously broken. I interviewed with the recruiter, which went well. I then interviewed with the hiring director, which also went well. It ended with "I think you'd be a great fit and would love to have you meet the team. We will coordinate schedules that best fits everyone's schedule." That's where things went astray. They ghosted me. I reached out a couple of times (with a week between emails) asking for a status and showing my continued interest in the role. Nothing. I just heard crickets. I finally got a robotic email stating that I was not in the running (multiple weeks later). I would NOT recommend this place to anyone as it sounds like they are trying to fly the airplane as they build it.
