The interview process was fairly straightforward, involving conversations with both the team and HR. I ultimately decided not to proceed due to the salary range not aligning with my expectations and the position not being a management role. The questions were mostly behavioral, and not particularly challenging.

HR was in charge of coordinating and scheduling the interviews. I got a call from HR on Monday about my application and if I was interested in moving forward. That Wednesday, they set up a 2+ hour in-person interview with local leaders. About 2 weeks later, I had a final call with the CEO. The CEO verbally extended an offer, and then sent an email. The whole process took about 4-5 weeks. The offer was about average for the market, and included a bonus structure, but I think there wasn't much room to negotiate it.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

The interview process started with a Teams call with the direct manager to go over the role and company/role pain points. The second interview was in person with both the direct manager and hiring manager. They mentioned my skill set aligns well and they were assessing personality fit. During the discussion of my event planning experience, they jokingly said "You're hired." I was given a tour and shown potential projects. The hiring manager even introduced me to another employee, mentioning I'd be joining them at the front desk. I felt very positive about the interview and expected an offer. After the interview, I sent a thank-you email and was asked for my salary expectations, to which I provided a research-based, flexible range. I was initially told they'd be in touch early the next week, but after not hearing back, I followed up. I was told they'd be in touch the following week. About 10 days later, I followed up again for an update and was given a date for their final decision. When that date passed without contact, I followed up again and was told they chose a different candidate. This was disappointing given the prior comments suggesting I had the job, potentially due to personality fit or salary expectations despite my flexibility. It's also notable that these interviewers were former colleagues from a previous company where I reportedly had glowing recommendations.

Applied online and got a referral from someone who works there. A week later, an in-house recruiter emailed me, and we had a short 20-minute phone call. They said I'd move on to a phone interview, which was set for the next week. This call was with the department head and lasted 45 minutes to an hour. A few days after that, I got an email saying I was invited for an in-person interview the following week. The in-person part had three rounds of questions with different people. Everyone was really nice and relaxed.
