First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Employment Plus.
Material Handler
I got to the location and filled out some paperwork. Then, the person there interviewed me right away. We talked about the job, and they asked some typical entry-level questions. After that, I got to choose one of four work areas to take a test on, which I guess is how they decide where you fit. They looked at my test results, gave me feedback, and said they'd call if they could hire me. A week later, I got a call about starting a class with Ryder Logistics. Before that, I had to do a drug test and background check. Once those were cleared, I toured the facility and met the Ryder trainers. I then trained with Ryder until I was assigned my shift, where I've been working since. I only needed to contact Employment Plus if I was sick, late, or wanted to request time off.

Operator
You can apply for the Operator position by submitting a paper application or by entering your information into the computer system, or you can apply online. The first step is a personality test and a simple skills test. The personality test is supposedly for matching you with an assignment, but you'll likely get whatever job is in highest demand. The skills test may differ based on available assignments, but mine was straightforward. I took more difficult tests for another assignment, but they were just high-school level math and measuring with rulers. Your test performance and job availability will determine if you proceed to the personal interview. Dress code is casual; I was even criticized for wearing a button-down shirt. The interview mainly involves verifying your application details and assigning you a role. A drug test (urine sample) is also administered, possibly on the same day after your interview or while you wait. You should be prepared for this test.
- What is your motivation for seeking employment with this company?
- What makes you want to work here?
- Tell me about yourself.
Assembly Worker
I arrived and first completed a computer-based pre-job assessment to determine the best placement for me. Then, I watched an orientation video and was subsequently tested on the material covered. Following that, I proceeded to a job interview where I was asked standard questions about the role. The questions were straightforward, and it seems like anyone willing to work can get a job here.
- What is your willingness to travel for work?
- Are you open to relocating?
Manufacturing Technician
The interview process was really long and not very helpful. I tried calling every day to set up an interview, but I didn't hear anything back for over two months. Eventually, I guess they got sick of me calling. The interview itself was quite strange, as they focused on topics unrelated to the actual job.
