- What are your long-term career aspirations?
Manager
The interview process was good and didn't take long. I learned about the company, its values, and culture. We also discussed growth opportunities, benefits, and the team. It seems like a great place to work and grow my career.
- Tell me about your past employment.
- Describe your skills set.
- What are your typical working hours?
Financial Analyst
So first, a recruiter from the company gave me a call. Then I had a video call with the Finance Manager. He hit me with some Google-interview-style questions, like asking how many gas stations are in the U.S. – he wasn't looking for the right answer but more my thought process. He then talked about how their work culture is super family-oriented, like they visit each other's houses and stuff. I mentioned I like to keep my work and personal life separate, and he didn't seem too thrilled. Even though I moved on to the next interview with the manager of the Finance Manager, I decided not to proceed. They seemed like nice people, but the company culture wasn't for me. The whole process involves a recruiter call, then a manager video call, then a Regional Manager video call, followed by a CFO call, and finally an Excel test.
- Can you estimate the number of gas stations in the U.S.?
- What software programs have you used in the past?
Branch Manager
I hadn’t planned on writing a review, but after reading another recent one that mirrored my experience, I felt compelled to speak up. I also interviewed with the same recruiter mentioned in the latest review, and the experience was extremely disappointing and unprofessional. From the start, it was clear they were unprepared as they arrived late, couldn’t turn their camera on, and appeared disengaged. They asked only one question and rushed through the entire process as if it were an inconvenience. When I asked a question that was directly relevant to the company’s structure and success, they dismissed it as unimportant and even felt that they implied it was a “stupid” question. From that point forward, their demeanor changed noticeably, and they abruptly ended the interview by asking if I had any final questions, which was confusing since the actual interview had barely taken place. I had invested time researching the company and was genuinely excited about the opportunity, but it’s incredibly disappointing that my first impression was marked by such a lack of professionalism and respect.
- How do you manage a team?
