Candidate interview experiences

The people I interviewed with were all very friendly, professional and the conversations were fluid and they made me feel comfortable throughout the process. I would say the main issue with the interview process was that it was very lengthy and inefficient. I was put through 6 stages of interviews only to be declined. They should have asked better questions earlier on in order to identify if I was a fit or not. Definitely not a good candidate experience at all. My recommendation would be reducing the number of interviews you put a candidate through. The process took 16 days. Even at the end, I was told I would hear back from them by a certain date (and they were very responsive with quick feedback earlier on in the process), however they didn't follow up with me when they said they would. Instead, I reached out to them in order to receive any feedback. I then received an email saying they weren't going to proceed with me (not even a call). That felt a bit cold after investing so much time and effort at my end. I have realized that I am better off not working in an organization with such a weak recruitment process. If I had joined the team, I can't imagine how long closing roles would take with all their rounds of interviews.
- Behavioral and situational questions were asked repeatedly in each of the 6 interview rounds.

I had two really great phone chats with my future manager first. Then, they invited me to lunch onsite to just hang out with the people I'd be working with. I loved this part since I wasn't actively searching for a job and a casual lunch was perfect for getting a feel for the vibe. After meeting the team, I decided I was definitely interested and went back for a proper in-person interview. Everyone I spoke with was super prepared, asked thoughtful questions, and had awesome energy. I was totally sold on Lever's values and culture after leaving the office both times.
- Can you share what you're seeking in a new position and how it matches what we're offering here?
- What led you to pursue a career in recruiting?
- Could you tell me about any long-term aspirations you have beyond your professional life?

I had a great interview process with Lever. It was short enough that I knew they had their internal processes together and were respectful of my time, but long enough for both of us to gather the information we both needed to make sure there was a mutually good fit. I spoke with the hiring manager via phone, then interviewed with the team and hiring managers with whom I would be working, and then finished with the three-hour career trajectory that is a staple of Lever's interview process. Communication was great, interviewers knowledgeable and friendly, and all taken care of in a few weeks. I got to visit the office several times, had lunch with the team, and overall had a great experience. The only area of improvement was being greeted downstairs: I arrived for one of my interviews and the security guard had gone on his rounds, leaving me unable to get to Lever's office. I worried about being late, and was by a couple of minutes, but the interviewers and my recruiter completely understood.
- Can you share an instance of dealing with a difficult-to-hire candidate? Additionally, how did you navigate conflict resolution with a hiring manager?
- Describe a situation where you encountered a candidate that was challenging to hire, and explain how you resolved any conflict that arose with a hiring manager.
