I had a 45-minute Zoom interview with three team members. We talked about the job responsibilities, how we'd collaborate on workflow, my problem-solving skills, and generally checked if I'd fit the team and how I communicate. After that, I found out I got the offer.

There's one round with the professor you'd be working with. It was with a finance professor, and they mostly asked coding questions in SQL. There were about 4-5 questions, all pretty basic. Then you had to talk about why you're interested in research in this field and your background.

The interview process was mainly about getting to know me. They asked me how I found out about the job and why I was interested in being a research assistant. We talked about my long-term career goals and why I wanted to work for their organization. I was asked to describe a time I overcame a challenge at work, and also about my greatest strengths and skills I'm working to improve. They also asked about my hobbies and how others would describe me, plus what I find interesting about research assistance.
