The interview happened on Zoom and went pretty smoothly. It's a good idea to prep beforehand and really know your resume. I talked about my past experiences, my strengths, and areas where I could improve, since they asked. The whole thing took about 20 minutes.

The interview process was pretty standard. I was told they needed to fill the position ASAP. After the interviews, though, communication just stopped. I didn't hear anything for seven weeks after the first interview and five weeks after the final one. I finally got a generic email saying I wasn't being considered after I sent an email. Everyone was really nice though, and I would've liked to work for the University. Communication quality is a big factor for me when deciding where to work. I've actually withdrawn my other applications from Emory since then.

The interview process was quite lengthy. I initially got a boost in the application review because I knew someone working there. First, there was a phone interview. A few weeks later, I had an in-person interview with my potential manager and some other department leaders. It was a relaxed, conversational interview, not too stressful. They gave me a timeframe for their decision, which they completely ignored. They did say I'd be notified when they decided. After waiting a couple of weeks with no contact, I reached out to one of the interviewers for an update. Still no reply. I waited another few weeks and just couldn't stand not knowing, so I called them and found out I didn't get the job. I'm an alum with a good GPA and references and met all the job requirements, yet the alumni association rejected me. I'm unsure what I did wrong. The most frustrating part, though, is their lack of consideration for candidates who are trying to manage their schedules around a timeline they don't even adhere to. I doubt they would have ever reached out to inform me about not getting the job.
