The atmosphere was really friendly and laid-back. All the interviews are one-on-one. The faculty are really just trying to see if you'd fit in with Emory's culture. Honestly, you really need to know: 1) Your past research projects inside and out, and be ready to explain the aims, reasoning, and outcomes, etc.; 2) Your reasons for wanting to go to grad school and your aspirations for after you finish; and 3) Why Emory is the ideal place for you to do this, meaning what about Emory specifically appeals to you.

The hardest part of applying for jobs at Emory is that you don't speak to anyone at first. I applied to over 100 jobs over 8 months before I got a call. The person who scheduled the interview sounded really excited about my resume and experience. When I went in, I actually interviewed with 5 different people, which was a bit overwhelming. But based on their feedback, I thought I got the job, and I did. They offered me the position quickly, but it took a few weeks to get through HR and send them all the required info. Overall, it was a positive experience, but they should have validated my parking, it cost me $15 for the interview. Good thing I got the job.
