First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Emmanuel College-Massachusetts.
Admissions Marketing Senior Associate/Associate Director
The Associate VP overseeing the interview process seemed disengaged. I had to initiate a lot of the follow-up communication. Eventually, I was informed they were pursuing a different candidate, but there might be another opening. However, I didn't proceed with that alternate position because the AVP didn't provide the necessary information to make a decision. It was all quite unusual.
- Tell me about your experience marketing for an undergraduate institution.
Graduate Trainee
The interview process was interactive and engaging, focusing on identifying areas of strength and weakness that need improvement in line with the job role. Information about the company culture was also revealed.
- Tell me about your areas of interest.
- Where do you envision yourself in the next five years?
Administrative Assistant
The interview process was short and to the point, with relevant questions asked. They weren't too picky about answers, which were pretty straightforward. The interviewers were nice, but they asked core drilling questions to get the best out of you professionally, keeping time in consideration.
- How would you handle a situation that is beyond your authority when no superiors are present?
Marketing Director
I had an in-person interview with a bunch of staff members from HR, communications, and admissions. They were all super nice and asked good questions about my background. It seemed like a good fit. But then, after the interview, they totally ghosted me. I sent multiple follow-up emails to HR and got no response or update. It took them three months to finally send me a letter saying they hired someone else. I felt it was really disrespectful to not even call me after such a positive initial meeting and then to take so long to send me a rejection via mail.
- Can you describe a task you dislike in your current role and explain your approach to managing it?
