Marketing Manager
I applied online. It was a 3-step interview process that happened in about 2 weeks. The first interview was 30 mins, mostly a screening call where they asked about my motivations. The second interview was a 1-hour technical interview with questions related to the job. The third step was part of a 'recruiting day' which included two interviews, each with 2 people. These were more scenario-based questions with interviewers from different teams (not related to my role).
- If you were to design a game based on your job, what game would it be?
Marketing Manager
The interview process was quite long. It started with a CV screening, followed by some logical tests. If those were passed, there was an interview with HR, and finally, a long 4-hour recruitment interview on a Friday. Despite reaching the final stage after over a month, the response times were inconsistent with what I was told. The final Friday interview involved three sets of interviews with brain teasers and various random questions, some of which were HR-related, not marketing-focused. My past experience and motivation didn't seem to be highly valued, and the benefit of attending a renowned university wasn't clear. After the exhausting interview day, I was told I'd get an answer early the next week, but it took over a week later. I was contacted, asked if I'd heard back, and then informed they were not proceeding with my application and that I couldn't reapply for 6 months. It's disappointing to invest so much time for such unresponsive feedback.
- Can you sell me this product?
- What kind of partnerships would be sensible?
- What would you do with an empty can?
Performance Marketing Manager
It was different from what I'm used to, but in a good way. After some initial contact on LinkedIn, I went through about 4 or 5 interviews in separate sessions. They were all pretty engaging, involving various teams and team members. At the end of each, there was time for questions. I asked them all the same thing: 'What's it like working at EMMA?' Their answers were remarkably consistent, touching on similar good and less-good points, which felt very transparent. The company also seems to encourage speaking up and sharing ideas. The first interview felt quite challenging based on my prior experience, but the subsequent 3 or 4 were much more relaxed, easy, and enjoyable.
- Regarding technical scenarios, can you describe how you would handle a given 'real life situation'?
- In response to a 'real life situation', what actions would you take?
