First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at EMJ.
Project Manager
There were 2 phone interviews and then a sit down with 3 people at different levels. They all asked similar questions to check for consistency in my answers. The questions were technical and intuitive.
- Can you tell me about your experience in this position?
- How would you approach specific scenarios?
- We need to review your personality assessment.
Receptionist/Administrative Assistant
I first chatted with EMJ's recruiting company on the phone. The recruiter, Lauren, was super nice and asked me more about architecture/design than admin stuff. She emailed me super fast, like within an hour, to set up a 15-minute chat with the Office Admin. Later that day, Lauren called me back and asked me to come in for another interview with the Executive Vice President. Both interviews were pretty straightforward with easy questions. The interviewers were both friendly and mostly talked about C2C and how the company cares about its employees.
- Given your limited administrative background, how would you manage a busy front desk?
Construction Superintendent
The interview process involved three phone calls and then two in-person interviews. The first in-person interview was with the VP of construction, where I was asked several technical questions. The second round was a lunch meeting with a senior superintendent and a senior project manager, who focused on my personal background, strengths, and job site preferences.
- Can you elaborate on your qualifications?
- What would you say are your best personal traits?
- What makes you stand out from other candidates?
Project Engineer
You'll have three interviews. First up is an hour-long chat with a VP where you'll get the lowdown on the company and how you'd fit in. Then, you'll have two 30-minute interviews with either PMs or Estimators, depending on who's around and what you're applying for. These chats will dive deeper into the company and the specifics of the role.
- Can you share an instance where you encountered a challenge and how you successfully navigated it?
