The interview process was pretty straightforward. It was nice that Emergent doesn't use WorkDay or similar ATS systems that can sometimes filter out candidates for small errors. First, I spoke with a Senior Technical Recruiter who seemed to know the company and the role really well, which was a pleasant surprise. Next, there were online tests covering logic, patterns, and data handling, which were easy to get through. Then, two more video interviews happened, and they went well. The interviewers were friendly, knew their stuff, and clearly explained what they were looking for.

The interview process was really smooth and easy to navigate because it was so clearly laid out. First, there were two online tests using Test Gorilla. Then, a take-home task focused on QA skills for web apps. After that, I had a quick intro call with a recruiter. Next up was an interview with a QA manager where I got hit with about 30-40 technical questions back-to-back. The final stage was an interview with a director and a senior QA person. I got the offer call just a few hours after that last interview. Everyone was super open about everything throughout the entire process, and communication was top-notch. You could really tell they put a lot of thought into creating a solid process to find the best people.

Technical Other

Applied for the job, and after that, I got an email to take an aptitude test. It was a 40 min test. After that, the senior technical recruiter emailed me to do a web testing challenge. I worked really hard on it and I think I did well in both tests. I got an email from the recruiter saying I was doing a great job and that my web testing challenge was sent to the grader. I didn't hear back for weeks. So I emailed them to see if they had an update and to let them know I was still interested. No response. Today I got an email saying they liked my application and that I did well, but the position has been filled. I don't get it. If they liked me and I did well on the tests, why didn't I even get a phone interview? (Also, from their team photos, they don't seem very diverse, and I'm a PoC.)
