First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Emergent.
Software Engineer
So the first step was this assessment where they threw some python Leetcode easy and medium questions at me. Honestly, it wasn't too tough. It felt like an easy intro assessment. They also asked some IQ questions, like spatial reasoning and logical questions you'd find on the GRE.
- Write a simple algorithm to determine the length of a string.
Consultant
The interview process was good and fast. I had two interviews. The first one was about my background and skills. The second one was more about specific situations and how I would handle them. It was well organized and I understood what they wanted.
- Could you tell me about your resume?
Sales Representative
Had about 2 or 3 phone interviews, then an in person interview with HR. After that, I had to give a 30-45 minute presentation to the sales management team. Everything before the presentation was pretty chill, and the presentation itself wasn't that hard, just a bit nerve-wracking presenting to the bosses.
- Describe a time you were in a really tough spot and how you managed to overcome it.
Account Manager
The interview process was pretty straightforward. I got a referral from a college acquaintance, which led to two in-person interviews. First, I spoke with the VP of Sales and the hiring Team Lead. Then, about two weeks later, I met with the Team Manager. After that, I waited a really long time for HR to get back to me. The HR person handling my process wasn't great, though they've changed since and things are better now. I had to chase HR because they said there was one more in-person interview, but it never happened.
- The VP of Sales gave me a list of tasks and asked me to order them by priority, but I wasn't sure what some of them meant. I got that wrong but managed to discuss what they all meant after putting them in the wrong order.
