So, the first bit was meant to be a multiple choice squeeze, but they actually skipped that. Next up is a tech task, where you have to code a solution within 8 hours and then push your results to a git repo.

Emerge recruited a digital communications specialist for a client. The first interview was face-to-face with the client, and the second was via Zoom with the client. Emerge then extended an offer. The interviews themselves were straightforward and efficient. The main issues arose after the offer, with the proposed contract exposing the candidate to potential labor exploitation. Emerge agreed to all the candidate's requests verbally but did not include them in the contract. Specifically, the contract stated that the workplace and work hours were subject to change, salary payment was subject to approvals (implying work could be done without pay), and all benefits mandated by local labor law were absent, including provident fund contributions, medical insurance, paid holidays, payment in lieu of untaken holidays, paid sick leave, and wages in lieu of notice.

I went through three interviews for this Phone Sales role. The first was a phone screen, and the other two were in person. After the interviews, it was clear the company wasn't very organized. I got that vibe in the building. The interviewers, including the department head and a VP, only had a vague idea of what the job would involve. They weren't sure about training or what they were looking for in a candidate. I got a call after the interviews to talk about salary and was given a tentative start date, but no formal offer because they were 'still working out the details.' I followed up a couple weeks later and was told they were restructuring the department, that I'd still get an offer, but the start date was pushed back. Now, two months after applying and a month after the original start date, and two weeks after the revised one, I still haven't heard anything. In the meantime, I turned down other job offers. It was a bad experience and makes me worry about working there.

I got a referral from a colleague. He and I were with another vendor, and I was looking to leave. He connected me with a recruiter, and she called me a week later. We had a friendly chat about my background and what I wanted in a new vendor and role. After that call, I went on maternity leave for a couple of months. When I was ready to come back to work, I found a suggested role a week later! I interviewed with Cisco a few days after that and got the offer.
