First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Emerald.
Airline Pilot
It was a chill interview. Just make sure you know about the ATR. They don't really care about what planes you flew recently. Just be yourself and chill, and know the ATR's systems, ice protection, and limitations.
- Can you explain hotel mode and AC?
- Tell me about the ATR overall systems.
- What about the ATR's ice protection?
Sales Executive
The interview process felt unorganized and messy, despite good intentions. Over a month, I never had a clear understanding of the process. They had me meet with two different groups for two different roles, which was odd. Everyone seemed to like me, but the process was so unorganized and I felt like I was running around. They gave me two very lame reasons for not hiring me. I sent thank-you notes to the senior managers I met in person, but neither responded, which was rude given I met them in person during a pandemic. The HR contact seemed out of the loop; I followed up asking to stay in touch about other opportunities, and when I expressed interest in this specific role, she didn't reply.
- What makes you enjoy sales, particularly exhibit sales?
Director
The process started with a recruiter phone screen, followed by a 30-minute video interview with the hiring manager, both of which seemed to go well. I let the recruiter know I was still interested, but then they ghosted me. Emails and calls went unanswered for weeks until they finally responded, claiming email issues but not phone problems. Their communication needs improvement compared to many companies these days.
- Can you share details about your background?
- What are your thoughts on leadership qualities and philosophies?
Director of Marketing
The interview process at Emerald was really professional and organized. The Head of Talent Acquisition stayed in touch, keeping me updated. Communication was steady and thoughtful. Talking with the hiring manager and other senior leaders, each chat felt important and tied to the company's strategy. Everyone I met engaged genuinely, helping me understand the role better and showing Emerald's focus on finding the right fit. It was a great experience that showed Emerald's professionalism and clear leadership.
- How do you approach challenging established ideas while ensuring they still fit with brand objectives?
