It started with a quick chat on Skype, then a really long 3-hour in-person meeting. That face-to-face part had a test, a panel interview, and a chat with the team. They threw in a lunch break in the middle. Everyone was super chill and friendly.

First, I got an email with a programming assignment to do in 3 days. It had 5 basic tasks and 2 extra ones. The main task was to complete an assignment about a pretty good algorithm problem. I had to write a Java 8 Maven project with a TestNG test suite. The extra task required me to implement a simple web service to run my algorithm. I finished the 5 basic tasks and one extra task and sent it back on time. I'm sure my solution was correct! After a few days, I got an email saying I didn't get qualified, no reason or comments given. So I asked for the reasons and the evaluation criteria. They replied that they can't give any info. "Unfortunately we are not able to provide further feedback at this stage, but please be aware that both your experience and technical test results were taken into account when shortlisting for this position." It seemed like they didn't value my solution over my experience. If they considered my experience, why send the assignment? It looks like they sent the assignment to many people and then rejected them.
