First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Embark Veterinary.
Account Manager
3 rounds of interviews, the last one was 2 hours long. They asked me for 3 references and required each to fill out a 9 question word doc. Then, I found out they are no longer hiring for the position. Extremely sketchy, unprofessional and a complete waste of my time. Do your research before applying.
- How would you drive growth within your business?
Product Manager
It was a 3-round process. First was a phone screening, then a meeting with the hiring manager, and the final round was with the team. They were friendly but had really bad communication, leaving me waiting for days with excuses like being out of office. It felt like I'd get to the next rounds, but then they'd ghost me and not respond to emails. After a lot of back and forth, I got an automated email saying they'd moved on. It was one of the worst interview experiences I've had.
- Can you describe a past project you were involved in and explain how you tackled any challenges that came up?
Associate
I got referred by someone who works here. I was upfront about my timeline since I was interviewing elsewhere. The recruiters were super flexible and sped things up for me, keeping me in the loop constantly. After a recruiter chat, I had two more video calls with team members before they made me an offer. Everyone was so nice, the interviews felt like normal conversations, we even talked about dogs, and you could tell they really loved their jobs. The whole thing took just 2 weeks and was the best hiring experience I've ever had.
- What attracts you to Embark and how do you see yourself contributing to the team's success?
Creative Director
It started with my resume submission and a recruiter reaching out. Then, I had a good talk with the CMO about expectations. After that, I did a group presentation to marketing and creative folks, showing my portfolio and career, and then answered questions. I also met with key people one-on-one. They were open about the team's situation and the challenges of rapid growth, which helped me understand what I'd be helping with. A highlight was meeting the CEO, Ryan. He was finishing up a call with a lawyer about funding but still took the time to share the founder's story. His passion really resonated, and I want to help him achieve his vision. The process began in June and I got an offer in early July. They were accommodating with my requested start date in mid-August after some time off. On the downside, the external recruiter wasn't very helpful. Also, stock options were confusing, and I wish there was a clearer explanation during the offer stage.
