The interview process for EMarketer (then Insider Intelligence) involved a few standard interviews and some initial written response questions. Following that, I was given an assignment that was estimated to take two hours but my friend and I felt was closer to 10+ hours. The timeline was short and rushed, and after submitting it, I was immediately told I didn't get the position. This was handled through a recruiter, which might have influenced the outcome.

I applied online and had a phone screening, followed by two in-person interviews. This company was a waste of my time. The first person I talked to seemed very interested in hiring me, but the rest of the team acted like they had better things to do than interview a candidate. The recruiter then had the audacity to ghost me after she reached out to me again to ask about another interview for a different department. I expressed some interest, but she didn't bother to reply or give me the time. The whole process was aggravating and I honestly wish I didn't apply in the first place.

Behavioral Technical

The interview process had 4 stages: first, a quick chat with the hiring manager about motivation. Second, a take-home written test. Third, in-person interviews that also included a written test. Fourth, a video interview. I felt the interview process was pretty good. Even though I didn't have a ton of direct experience, it seemed like they were more focused on seeing if I was genuinely passionate about the field and the job. Plus, HR kept me in the loop at every step and were super quick to respond when I had questions, which was really nice and motivating.

I got an interview invite super fast after applying and was really hopeful. But, the interviewer seemed to not care at all from the get-go. She was late for our phone chat and was just checked out the whole time, no excitement. She even said her dog was 'guarding her' during the call. I couldn't even hear the dog. I'm not sure if I was intimidating or if she just didn't want to interview me. After I'd answer something, she'd go totally silent for over 20 seconds, which felt like forever. No explanation, I have no idea what was going on. Super unprofessional. This was the worst company interaction I've ever had. She made it pretty obvious she wasn't interested in me, so I figured I wouldn't move forward. I also started losing interest because she clearly wasn't engaged. eMarketer, you don't need to be rude to reject people.
