First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Elutions.
Systems Administrator
There were 3 phone interviews total, one with HR, one with the Hiring Manager and one with the Head of Operations. The interviews were pretty casual and nice, kind of like the company's office vibe. After these, I got an offer.
- HR asked general questions.
- Hiring manager asked many technical, detailed, and position-specific questions, with difficulty adjusted for the role's rank.
- The interview with the Head of Operations involved describing yourself and how you can be useful to the company, and whether your outlook matches the company's views.
Data Scientist
The interview process started in September and took about two and a half months, eventually leading to an offer that was later revoked. It began with a recruiter call where they asked about my experience, immigration status, and salary expectations. The second interview was fairly straightforward; they reviewed my resume and asked general questions about previous projects. There was some talking over each other, but it went okay. The third interview involved a technical exercise given to me over 5 days, which was challenging and detailed. This stage included in-depth questions about my solutions for their problem. The final interview was with the CTO, discussing the company and its work. After the interviews, I received an offer, and they asked about my immigration status again, which I had already disclosed. After a couple of weeks of silence, I followed up and received an email stating my offer was revoked. My overall experience was terrible, the process was long and exhausting, and there seemed to be significant confusion within HR regarding international students.
- Could you elaborate on your past experience?
- Please confirm your immigration status.
- What are your salary expectations?
Data Engineer
The interview process went like this: first I had an interview with HR, then 2 interviews with the manager and a teammate. After that, there was a test with 5 questions and 2 data analysis tasks. Finally, there was a follow-up test with the manager and teammate, which was conducted on Teams.
- Can you discuss your prior professional experience?
- What are your strategies for dealing with missing data points?
Field Engineer
I had interviews with various people both on Skype and in person. This really gave me a good understanding of how the company would utilize my skills and helped me decide if I was a good fit for them. It was a tough interview process, but it was useful.
- Can you describe your definition of success?
