First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Eltropy.
Frontend Developer
Had salary discussion with the HR in the very beginning itself. After going through 3 rounds of discussions they ghost you and one day when you call them they say they don’t have the budget! Opening positions without any intent of hiring 2 technical rounds followed by hiring manager discussion which involved a few project based questions and rest behavioural questions. First round was a react based UI coding problem Second one was around JS, and web development questions
- A React-based UI coding problem was presented, along with other JavaScript questions, such as those concerning the event loop.
Data Analyst
The interviewer didn't have an analytics background. They asked about my previous experience and then presented a case study. The case study involved creating a pipeline for streaming data for a BNPL product on an e-commerce platform. Interestingly, they also inquired about my salary expectations, which felt a bit unusual given their role wasn't HR or recruiting, nor were they the hiring manager. I shared this information anyway.
- Tell me about your experience in building a data engineer process pipeline for streaming data.
- How to build BNPL data engineer process pipeline for streaming data
Senior Software Engineer
The interviews involved 4 rounds. The interviewers were very self-proclaimed and would do anything to beat you down. If an interview is around system design, then you need to follow with the candidate around certain decisions not ask tool specific questions. it should not matter if someone has used aws lambda or not. if someone knows the working and fundamentals, lambda or any other tool is just a 2 hour job then. but they were all fixated upon tools. Very poor experience. classic case of frogs in a well.
- Many questions around python coroutines
Lead UI Developer
The interview process was well-structured and moved along in a timely way. The first round involved building a web application, which was a technical test for UI developers. The second round was a technical phone screen. The third round was with the Director or VP or CTO. The final round was with HR, and then they would issue the offer letter.
- Can you tell me about your experience with Javascript?
- Describe your experience with Front-end UI development.
- What is your experience with ReactJS?
