First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Elsmere Education.
Enrollment Coach
I had a 15 min phone screen with HR, then a 60 min video interview with the EC managers, and the last interview was a 30 min phone call with the director.
- What is a primary reason students fail to begin their studies?
- Can you share any experience you have in assisting individuals overcome challenges?
Student Success Counselor
Applying was straightforward since a cover letter wasn't required, making it easy to secure an interview. My background includes ample experience in student and customer service. The role involves managing a caseload of over 300 students. I had some reservations about certain aspects, such as learning post-interview that a Master's degree is a prerequisite. Additionally, the interviewer implied a potential shift to full-time office presence, which isn't something I'm seeking. I'm also uncertain about my fit with the company culture, which appeared somewhat overly enthusiastic.
- Describe a situation where you had to deliver unfavorable news to a student.
Student Success Counselor
I had a 15-minute phone interview and they wanted to do an in-person interview the same week, even though I told them I'd be on vacation. They insisted on interviewing me while I was away, which I probably should have said no to, but it seemed like a good opportunity. The interview was an hour long, and they asked pretty much the same questions as the phone call, not really any student-focused scenarios, just stuff like what I look for in a manager and how I adapt to change. I got a rejection the next week and didn't hear back after asking for feedback. It was super frustrating to see them repost the job opening for the same role on LinkedIn, felt like my time was completely wasted.
- What qualities do you seek in a manager?
- What's your approach to dealing with students who are upset?
- How do you approach adapting to changes?
Vice President of Marketing
It was a pretty standard interview process where I met with the President and the rest of the management team. What was unique and quite refreshing was being asked to meet with a key vendor and marketing team staff to make sure there was a good fit for all parties. It showed that the team at Elsmere truly cares about cultural fit.
- Tell me about your background and experience.
- How do you approach leadership?
- How important is organizational culture to you?
